This course equips you with the knowledge to navigate around familiar waters by day. A basic knowledge of lights is also included to introduce you to night cruising.
The course is taught over 40 hours with two exam papers. It can be covered as a series of 3 weekend sessions, or as an intensive 5 days course.
Ability after the course
This course will give you all of the navigation and theoretical knowledge required to move on towards the Day Skipper practical course and RYA Day Skipper certificate.
All course materials including RYA Day Skipper theory course notes. Sandwich lunch and coffee/tea. Free parking at our premises. Certificate when successfully passing the exam.
We recommend as supporting courses RYA Diesel Engine and RYA Radar and Practical C-MASTERS courses, in particular Passage Planning.
