At C-MASTERS, we have created a selection of 'must do' courses. After several years of providing training we know which topics and skills are considered complex by students. Most of these topics are covered in the RYA shorebased courses and in practical courses. However, a more intensive training is needed to become a confident skipper.
Sailing and navigating during the night is a very special experience. For many experienced skippers, this is their preferred moment at sea. Looking at the stars, hearing the waves, and observing the sea area in search of other boats and objects. Things do look different at night and distances are hard to assess in the dark. So, navigation requires special attention.
This course is a must do for anyone who wants to be skilled and confident in navigating at night, including the use of radar.
Course content
During daytime, you will be taught the key aspects of navigation in restricted visibility and the use of navigation equipment to be ready to put your knowledge into practice during several nightly passages. The topics include, amongst others:
