This is an excellent opportunity to assess and develop your navigation skills, leadership qualities, and teamwork abilities. A 7 days Experience Builder to tick off on your bucket list
The Route
This 600 miles experience builder is leaving from Medemblik. The planned destination is Marstrand and the Gothenburg region subject to favourable weather conditions.
We will be leaving from Medemblik (IJsselmeer), navigating through the Dutch Wadden islands Terschelling and Vlieland, passing the German Wadden towards the unpredictable German bight.
Our plan is to continue North with a stop at the mysterious rock island called Helgoland, then further along the West coast of Denmark, to the entrance of the magical Limfjorden.
While sailing through the Limfjorden you will enjoy the view of many small harbours and Danish villages unfolding mile after mile. A beautiful route and at the same time one that trades the hard seas off Skagen for calm inland channels. The tides are gentle and the navigation generous. And when the fjord releases you into the Kattegat, Sweden is already within reach.
The last 150 nm to Gothenburg will go up north-east passing Arhus to reach the Bohuslän archipelago with the famous Swedish skerries. With just another 20 nm north of Gothenburg to go we will find our destination : the world famous sailing mekka of Marstrand.
Marstrand is one of Scandinavia’s iconic sailing venues, renowned for its lively regatta scene, dependable summer winds and challenging coastal waters. Every season the town attracts elite sailors for major international events such as Match Cup Sweden, the 44Cup and European championships in Olympic classes.
If you are an aspirant Yachtmaster or a Day Skipper trainee in our crew, your navigation skills will be challenged here : strong variable currents between the hundreds of low rocky islands will test your nerfs and skills.
Skills Development:
Important: This Experience Builder will be skippered by a C-MASTERS professional Yachtmaster and Sailing Instructor with extensive experience sailing in Swedish and Scandinavian waters. Kristou is one of our senior instructors and will both support and challenge you by assigning daily skipper responsibilities.
A fantastic yacht :
We offer this challenging week on a beautiful ‘classic’ 45 Grand Soleil. 'Grand Bleu' is a meticulously maintained 20 yr old beauty with nice comfort and very good sailing skills. She sleeps 6 in 3 double cabins. Though we take maximum 4 crew on board, thus raising each others comfort.
