The only way that you will properly learn navigation and sailing techniques is by a combination of a lot of personal coaching by your instructor and by having as much as possible time to hands-on practice your skills on board.
Imagine being part of a practical course with typically 5 students, and having to wait until the other 4 have finished their turn before finally being able to take the wheel or do chart work at the navigation table. Wouldn't that be anoying and a wast of time ?
C-MASTERS guarantees, as only RYA training centre in our region, that we will always work with small groups of students on board. Having a maximum of 3 students means that you are continuesly busy with navigation and chart work, trimming the sails or steering the yacht. Your instructor will have plenty of time to work with you on some of those hard skills which are so essential to become a confident skipper or crew member.
And, a small group also means more privacy and comfort with less people to share the cabin space.
We are convinced about the superior quality of the RYA course materials. Without doubt the RYA handbooks and training packages are the best study materials for learning practical navigation and seamanship skills, whether you are a beginning crew member or an experienced skipper, for sailing and motor cruising.
For this reason, we have decided to provide a set of extra RYA handbooks with the standard practical course material.
We will use the handbooks during your course. Afterwards they provide for an excellent reference book for when you're putting your theoretical and practical knowledge into practice on the water.
